2002 to 2003 - Paul Edge under his new concept, Remote Control. The Nintendo Cube Tour had seen another change in Paul Edge musically, as he now became the first DJ to bring the emerging Electro-Clash sound to North America, DJ Paul Edge introduces the style to United States crowds on his Remote Control tour, with Keoki in support. In the words of DJ Simon Patee (Redux on XM Radio and promoter of Washington DC`s legendary "Sleaze" nights) - "Paul Edge made jaws drop during his debut performance at Buzz [December 2001]. His techno electro-fusion [electro-clash] sound was still largely unknown, and pushing labels like Gigolo to an uneducated U.S. crowd was indeed groundbreaking, but that is what makes Paul Edge such a good DJ. From being one of the first DJs to play Trance in Canada in 1995, to introducing tech house to a packed Twilo crowd, Paul Edge consistently treads where others fear to go. Perhaps his lack of worldwide ‘fame’ stems from the fact that once other DJs catch on, he`s already moved on."

2009 - Psychedelic Dance Music - Whilst working on a rework project for iconic band The Doors, Paul Edge observed that due to the limitations of recording techniques of the late 60s, an unusual frequency interaction was occurring. He then proceeded to study live concerts from artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin to ascertain if the same phenomena occurred, which not surprisingly it did.
Fundamentally, he theorised, that due to feedback in a live setting, identical sounds were interpreted by the brain at different frequency levels creating a frequency differential that causes similar effects to those listed by Binaural beats. When applied to techno or similar music, the act of mixing two records by DJs also created this frequency differential, as the sounds whilst similar, were invariably "pitched up" or "pitched down" to ensure correct beat matching, thus creating a frequency differential. Paul recognised that certain frequencies have an indisputable effect on the brain, something explored by Nikola Tesla in the first half of the 20th Century, and theorised if he could incorporate sub-binaural theory into electronic dance music, specific frequencies could effect how the audience responds emotionally to the music.
A 4 year journey was then started that absorbed Paul as he tried to perfect the medium, which he successfully did in late 2009. The frequencies employed have long been recognised as having an effect on the brain. A frequency differential of approximately 10 hertz for example, results in an enhanced release of serotonin & mood elevator and is considered universally beneficial.
For the neurological effects of Psychedelic Dance Music to impact an audience, it is believed that a minimum of 1 hour is needed. The purpose of a one hour minimum performance time is that it allows the brain to synchronize with the parallel frequencies. Enhancing the music is a highly specialised visual show based on the principles of Psychoacoustics.
